Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and Portland, Oregon, USA – Food Inc. film producer Robert Kenner presented his thoughts on "The illusion of choice "for delegates from the Culinary Tourism Summit, held 19-21 September 2010 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Kenner Movie Food Inc. to bring home the point that consumers cheap food has a much higher cost, ie, poor health and a decline in local economies. In order food becoming cheaper, and in doing so, largely supporting restaurant chains, consumers are unaware they are shooting in the foot. "If we do not support local restaurants independent, then in 20 years, we have no option left where we eat. There will be a global output each for hamburgers, coffee and pizza, "says Erik Wolf, President of the International Culinary Tourism Association (ICTA). "Exactly," said Kenner. "Consumers are under the illusion that they are increasingly more choices than ever, when in fact the opposite is happening. "Kenner delivered his insightful and provocative food for thought for delegates ICTA to the Culinary World Tourism Summit, which is co-presented by Taste of Nova Scotia, sponsored by the Canadian Tourism Commission.
